Proclarity Installation

Hello all. I am having the hardest item installing proclarity on my machines. The installation goes through fine but when I login to the site I do not see an option (should be a drop down) to select web vs pro edition. When I check for downloads, it shows none available. I did install the web professional from the main installation window, and the files are on the drive itself.

On a different note, I have read most of proclarity's documentation, but cannot seem to find how to have web pro (well std until I have the pro option) connect to an existing cube and allow data browsing/drill down, etc. Any link or doc you can point to for this will be very helpful.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello. You manage the access to web professional in the administration console for PAS(Analytics Server).

Each role you create there would have to be allowed to download web professional.

ProClarity is currently in a "no mans land" because it is owned by Microsoft and the ProClarity Platform will be part of PerformancePoint.

Thank you for your answer. I was able to solve the mystery and it is just like you said. I just want to clarify the solution a bit more for other folks who may face the same road block.

Fireup the proclarity administration tool, click on users node and for each user/group right click and choose properties. There you can provide permission to access proclarity professional.

Processor Upgrade on a sql cluster

In our environment we have a cluster active standby with a shared storage
iscsi
The two machines are Windows 2000 Advanced Server with Intel Xeon
Single-Core 3.4Ghz with SQL Server 2000
Enterprise Edition.
Now we want to sustitute these two with another two machines with
Dual Intel Xeon Dual-Core 3.6Ghz
We want to clone the actual machines in the new environment cause we want a
current machine for disaster recovery and cause we want also to test the
disaster recovery plan...
1) the two new dual core processors are view from operating system as a four
processor is this configuration supported with the environment Windows 2000
Advanced Server and SQL 2000 Server Enterprise Edition ?
2)when we have transferred the disk and the configuration and the boot is ok
and sql services are started what tuning and best practice we have to apply
for the new environment for tuning performance with new dual vs single cpu
node
Hi Davide,
1) Yes, you can manage 4 processors with these licenses.
2) We need more information about your environment to answer this. Generally
speaking, you should take care of CPU affinity and IO affinity, and take a
look at your files and filegroups configurations, especially on tempdb
database

|||I/O affinity only comes into play with the Datacenter Edition when working
with specific SAN configurations. Even then, you need to be pushing the I/O
channel pretty hard to even see any effect.

processor doesn't leave the 100%

I noticed the use of 100% of the processor in machines using Win2000,
independent of being in the application .mde or with the application in way
desing. In the with Win98 work usually. doesn't need to execute anything,
mecher is enough the mouse and ready, the processor is in picks of 100/80%.
Some months ago noticed this in a seek application in a server P4 of 3.0 gb,
1Gb mem, that I installed. When accessing the bank Sql Server in Win2000
Server the processor doesn't leave the 100% doing with that the stations are
very slow.
Did anybody already come across this problem?
And other still: To with the win2k in all the stations and Server in the
server. In intervals non sequence, the date and the hour of the personal
computer of the net reset for 1899, 1890 and for oh, nor for the date of the
bios it is.
I already passed anti-virus of the site of the simantec and doesn't have
anything.
Sounds like you may have the Slammer virus. Are you running the latest
service packs?

Anti-virus in all the equipments and updated. The Interesting is that also
noticed this in my machine using Access in way design and the same thing
happens. The processor is in the same 100% me not making anything, just
mecher the mouse already maintains the pick in the 100%. Any other
application works normal, I already tested. I can do from a document, a
graph in Corel, a presentation in the Power Point... it doesn't arrive in
the 50%, in the Access mecher in the mouse maintains the 100% of activity.

pretty sure there are no viruses on it.
I tried performance monitoring, but didn't have enough time, because it
is on a server that needs to be accessible 24/7 and must have very quick
responses. I found that there is a large number of active and passive
connections. (12000+ active and 84000+ passive). I didn't found any
extensive disk activity, memory usage is quite low ...
Does anyone have any clue ?
Thanks for any suggeestion.
